White Ribbon Day
WALT: not use violence and respect other people.
White Ribbon Day is about people within families treating each other with respect .A respectful relationship is where everyone feels safe, listened to, and trusted.
The White Ribbon message teaches that it is not okay to hurt other people physically or emotionally, through violence or fear.
The International White Ribbon Day, November 25th, calls for the ending of Men's Violence Towards Women, asking men to 'Stand Up' and speak out. The global movement was started by a group of men and boys in London November 1991 as a response to the Massacre of female students by Marc Lepine in 1989. In Canterbury, the message goes further to say that no violence is okay between any member. (This includes our pets!)
This years event was held at Shirley Intermediate School.
If someone in your house is getting hurt you should call 111 and ask for help or go and tell an adult you trust.
